Chocolate Granola Bars
Looking for something fun to make with the kids this holiday?
Quick, easy and full of goodness. You can also sneak almost anything into these bars and kids would never know!
My lil ones had such fun making these, eating most of the mixture and spilling heaps on the floor, but they loved the experience.
They enjoyed these so much they fought over the last square … was it wrong of me to take it away for fighting and have it for myself?
Ingredients
1 & ½ cups puffed brown rice
1 & ½ cups rolled oats
½ cup honey
¾ – 1 cup natural peanut butter
½ cup dark chocolate chips or carob chunks
Optional extras:
Cranberries
Hemp Seed / Hemp Powder
Sesame Seeds
Method
Mix together the puffed rice & oats in a large mixing bowl.
Add cranberries and seeds (optional).
In saucepan heat the honey & peanut butter until smooth and pour over the oats mixture and stir until evenly combined.
Press the mixture into the prepared pan. Gently press the chocolate chips into the top of the bars or melt Carob Chunks and drizzle over the mixture.
Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or until firm.
Cut into 16 squares or rectangles.
Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Vegan Bolognese
The most common question I get asked is 'how do you get your kids to eat plant-based meals?' We are doing it slowly. One meal at a time. This versatile plant-based bolognese is simple to make, free of grains and legumes, full of flavour and tastes like traditional...
Vegan Chocolate Cake with frosting
A vegan cake that tastes just like a traditional rich chocolate cake? Huh! Never! There's no way, right? Well, I was wrong. I'd choose this cake over any cake on a dessert table. And I can guarantee you that no-one would even notice that it was a wheat-free,...
Vegan Creamy Herb Salad Dressing
A salad needs to be dressed to impress! Before I went plant-based I made the most delicious creamy herb salad dressing made with cream cheese. With summer in full swing it means a lot more salads on the lunch and dinner table, so a non-dairy salad dressing is vital to...
