Almond Fat Bombs

by | May 29, 2017 | Snacks, Sweet Treats | 0 comments

If you’re looking for something to boost your energy, speed up your metabolism and curb your appetite, then these are the bomb!

I keep these in the freezer and my boys know they can help themselves to one or two a day. Not only are they getting a small afternoon ‘treat’, but they are also getting essential good fats into their diet.

Fat Bombs are traditionally made up of a healthy fat such as coconut oil or butter, a nut butter such as almond butter or peanut butter plus a little bit of sweetener.

These Fat Bombs do have a little bit of banana and I use honey as my choice of sweetener, but if you’re following a strict keto / Banting diet you can leave out the banana and swop out the honey for liquid stevia or your choice of low carb sweetener.

½ cup organic coconut oil

2½ tablespoons natural almond butter

2 teaspoons raw honey

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ teaspoon sea salt

½ banana

Slightly warm your coconut oil if solid.

Place melted coconut oil and the rest of the ingredients into a food processor.

Blend until smooth.

Pour into your preference of mould or ice-cube tray.

Place in the freezer overnight.

Pop them out when set and store in a sealed container in the freezer.
